About this role

You'll write almost everything that WeYug publishes externally — our blog (we publish 1–2 posts per week), case studies, customer-facing email templates, parts of the marketing website, and increasingly some of the customers' content as part of their projects.

The bar for our writing is unusually high for an SMB-facing studio. We don't write listicles or AI slop. We write the way two senior engineers would talk about a problem in a back-room conversation — direct, specific, evidence-driven, occasionally wrong on purpose.

You'll be one of the senior voices of WeYug. You'll also need to be comfortable saying no to bad briefs, bad SEO suggestions, and bad headlines, even when the request is internal.

What you'll do

  • Write 1–2 long-form blog posts per week (1500–3500 words each) about real WeYug work. You'll have interviews with the engineers and designers to draw from.
  • Write 1 case study per month. Real customer, real numbers, real complications. No fluff.
  • Write or edit large parts of customer projects' content — homepage, services pages, about, FAQ. Aim for honest, durable copy.
  • Maintain the WeYug brand voice across everything that goes out. Be the editor everyone trusts to make their draft better.
  • Run our SEO with a healthy skepticism. We rank for things that matter to real customers — not for things that look good on a dashboard.

You should have

  • 2+ years writing professionally about tech, business, or a tech-adjacent vertical.
  • Strong portfolio of long-form work — links to bylines required.
  • Fluent, idiomatic English with a clear personal voice (we'll ask for unedited drafts to see it).
  • Can interview a technical expert and produce coherent prose about their work — without making the expert wince.
  • Comfortable with markdown, basic HTML, and CMS workflows.
  • Self-directed. You'll be remote and the deadlines are real.

Nice to have (not required)

  • Background in software engineering, design, or any technical discipline.
  • Have published on tech publications (TechCrunch India, YourStory, Inc42, Substack with a real readership).
  • Reading habit that goes beyond the SaaS-content treadmill — Wait But Why, Ben Thompson, Anand Sanwal, Sandhya Iyer, Pranshu Maheshwari.
  • SEO foundations (you understand what ranks and why, without being a 'growth hacker').

About the team you'll join

You'll work directly with the partners on the marketing function and with the delivery leads on customer content. We don't have an existing content team — you'll be the founding content person.
