QA Engineer (Manual + Playwright)
Catch every bug before the customer does. Manual testing on every release, Playwright suites on every project, ownership of the test budget.
Apply for this role →About this role
You'll be our first dedicated QA engineer. You'll own the test process across all our customer projects: manual QA on every release, Playwright integration suites on every project, automation of the most painful repetitive tests.
This role is part hands-on testing, part process design. You'll define what 'tested' means at WeYug, document it, and hold the team to it.
What you'll do
- Manual QA on every customer release — across desktop + mobile, across the major Indian-customer browsers (Chrome, Safari, Samsung Internet, UC).
- Write + maintain Playwright integration suites for every project. Start with the critical paths (checkout, contact, login).
- Document the per-project test plan. Edge cases, regression suites, browser matrix.
- Investigate customer-reported issues. Reproduce, isolate, write the failing test, hand to engineering.
- Maintain our internal QA dashboard. Test pass rates per project, flake rate, escape rate.
You should have
- 2+ years of QA work on web products. Manual + automated.
- Playwright (or Cypress / Selenium with willingness to migrate to Playwright). You can write a useful test from scratch.
- Strong understanding of how web browsers actually work — DOM, network, storage, cookies.
- Patience for reproducing weird issues + the writing skills to document the repro clearly.
- Comfortable with Git, GitHub PRs, basic CI concepts.
Nice to have (not required)
- Some development experience (TypeScript / JavaScript). You'll be more effective.
- Visual regression testing tools (Percy, Chromatic, Argos).
- Performance testing background (Lighthouse, WebPageTest).
About the team you'll join
You'll work with the engineering team daily. You'll be the engineers' best friend within 3 months — and the safety net for the delivery leads.
How we'll hire
- 30-min intro call — Engineering lead.
- Paid take-home — Test a real (anonymised) customer staging site. Write the test plan + 5 Playwright tests + a bug report. 4–6 hours, ₹6000.
- Half-day pairing — Sit in on a live release QA session.
- Offer — Within 5 working days.
